Thinking about a nail or lash course in Amman? What to expect

Who a course is really for

You do not need to be a working technician to start — most good courses welcome complete beginners as well as people who already do nails or lashes for friends and want to make it real. What matters more than experience is intent: whether you want to look after your own and your family’s nails confidently, build a side income from home, or train toward your own chair. A clear goal helps you and the trainer pick the right level and pace.

Be honest with yourself about format, too. Skills like the Russian manicure or volume lashes are physical and detailed — they are learnt by doing, with someone watching your hands and correcting them in the moment. A weekend of slides will not get you there. Look for a course built around real practice, not just theory.

What a good course actually covers

Beyond the technique itself, a solid programme spends real time on the things that protect you and your future clients: nail and skin basics, how to prep without damage, hygiene and sterilisation, product knowledge, and how to spot when not to work on someone. These are exactly the parts a cheap, fast course tends to skip — and the parts that separate someone who can do a pretty set from someone who can do a safe, lasting one.

The best learning happens on real hands. Ask how much of the course is hands-on, whether you practise on live models (not just a practice hand), and how small the group is — you learn far more in a group of three than a room of fifteen. A trainer who is also a working studio technician brings what textbooks miss: how to handle a nervous client, fix a lift, or read a difficult nail.

Certificate, kit and after-course support

Ask what you walk away with. Many courses include a starter kit so you can practise and begin working immediately — check what is actually in it and whether the products are ones you would want to use. A certificate helps with client trust and is often expected if you want to rent a chair or register a small home business, though what truly earns clients is your portfolio and word of mouth.

Support after the last session matters more than people expect. Will you be able to message your trainer when you hit your first tricky client at home? Are there refresher or advanced sessions later? At RANDOMIZED in Amman our courses are taught from a real working studio, hands-on and in small groups, and we stay reachable after you finish — because your results are our reputation too. Common questions

FAQ

No — good beginner courses start from the basics and assume no background. If you already practise on yourself or friends, an intermediate or advanced level may suit you better. Tell the studio your starting point and your goal, and they will place you in the right level.
